Download YouTube Videos using KeepVid

This tutorial is designed to walk through the steps of downloading a YouTube video as an mp4, flv, 3gp, webm, or mp3 file. **Note that [[http://www.youtube.com/static?gl=US&template=terms|Youtube’s TOS]] prohibits the downloading of content (as of 5-22-2013):**

  1. Locate a YouTube video you would like to download. Copy the URL out of the address bar by selecting it, right click your selection, then click `Copy`

  2. Navigate to `keepvid.com`
  3. Paste the youtube link copied in step one into the text area stating `enter the link of the video you want to download`. (Right click the text area, then click paste)

  4. Click the `DOWNLOAD` link to the right hand side of the text area. Do not click the links below the text area that are contained within a group box stating `Advertisement`

  5. You will be asked to give permissions for a Java Applet to run. Click the appropriate box to accept the install (you can choose to accept just once, or always)

  6. You will be presented with multiple download formats and qualities. **DO NOT CLICK ANY OF THE BUTTONS ON THIS PAGE!** Right click the option you prefer, then click `Save As`. //Recommended download format is the highest quality `MP4` version//

  7. Browse to the directory you would like to save the file to, then click `Save`
